I reckon this is the closest I ever got to a lion (in captivity or otherwise) cause it was literally JUST on the other side of the glass. The size of it's head alone was mindblowing!
Seriously, one of the best times to get the big cats would be later in the afternoon or really early in the morning, so to get good, interesting photos of non-sleeping animals, go early, stay late and visit the animals more than once when possible. Best advice ever...

I really like the closeness and how the edges are slightly darker so that we get to focus on the lion more. The timing is fantastic, especially with the teeth shown and everything..
